about

IVM007. Released on Indie Vision Music in July of 2004. The final release on the IVM Label for 4 years.

I first heard Joey’s Loss on some little Christian compilation somewhere at the beginning of the last decade and I dug it. The vocals were a little “Off” sounding but the music was cool. Well the band improved and sent me “Letters Written Without Ink” in 2003. I was running the label and I was looking for new bands to “sign” (if you can call it that, lol) so I checked out this new album and I became a big fan of the Knoxville, TN. band. I wrote them and asked about releasing a NEW album if they had it in them to enter the studio only a year after the release of their independent album. They said sure, and entered the studio in early 2004 to record “Unwelcome Travelers and Other Brave Men”. Their style was hard to peg down. At times they were very Punkish and at other times, very Rock n Roll. Their lyrics were pretty straight forward and definitely on fire for the Lord. These guys were great and it was a total pleasure working with them for the few short months the label was still running. Unfortunately, my money just ran out, I became depressed with the music scene, and sort of just lost my passion for working in the industry. This was the final release by Indie Vision Music in 2004 and was supposed to be my last act as a company. As stories go, I let the site sit dormant for about a year and was literally going to close it all down and sell off the domain. The Lord wasn’t done with me and my passion slowly began to resurface. I launched the zine on February 14th, 2005 and 9 years later, here we are. This is a great band and a great bunch of guys. Check them out.

Former members of this band went on to form The Hotshot Freight Train (Future Destination Records) and released my top album of 2009 and 2012 respectively.
